Project Overview
On 6 July 2024, The Reytons returned home to play their biggest live performance to date — a sold-out hometown show at Clifton Park, Rotherham — with 20,000 fans in attendance. LUX Technical was tasked with delivering an arena-grade audio experience that would match the energy and scale of this landmark concert.
Objectives:
Deliver clear, powerful, and evenly distributed audio across a large outdoor site for an audience of 20,000 people, ensuring high-quality sound for every guest regardless of their position in the crowd.
Brief:
Design and deploy a large-format audio system capable of meeting the band’s technical rider and performance requirements, while also delivering consistent coverage across a wide open-air audience area.

Project Fulfilment
Audio Design & Deployment:
We specified a d&b SL Series PA system, chosen for its exceptional clarity, power, and long-throw capability. The system was designed to cover every section of the audience space with even sound pressure levels and full-frequency detail.
Front-of-House Control:
A Yamaha DM Series console was used at FOH for precise, responsive mixing, allowing engineers to adapt to the dynamic range and energy of the live set in real time.
Collaboration:
Working closely with our trusted audio partners and production colleagues, we integrated all elements of the audio system into the wider event production, ensuring smooth coordination from load-in to final encore.

Personal Insight
As passionate music lovers, with many of our project managers having played in bands together for years, this gig really struck a chord with us. Being able to support a live show from behind the scenes, knowing firsthand what it means to perform, made it an especially meaningful and exciting project to be part of. Seeing The Reytons play to such a huge hometown crowd and knowing our audio system carried their sound flawlessly to every corner of the park was electric.
Outcome
The Reytons’ Clifton Park show was a milestone event, both for the band and for the local community. Our technical delivery ensured that every single fan — from the front row to the farthest fence — experienced the same powerful, high-fidelity performance. It was a night that reinforced the magic of live music at scale, and one we were proud to help bring to life.
