LUX Technical was selected to support Amazon’s UK launch of Alexa+, the next generation of its conversational AI assistant, at London’s iconic 180 Studios. Designed as an immersive media experience for leading UK journalists and industry stakeholders, the showcase transformed the venue into a series of fully functional, life-sized environments where guests could experience Alexa+ in realistic everyday settings.
Working alongside the project’s creative and scenic teams, LUX Technical provided specialist lighting integration, AV infrastructure, and technical support to bring the intelligent demonstrations to life.
To create an immersive, real-world product experience that allowed invited journalists and media representatives to explore the capabilities of Amazon Alexa+ through a series of interactive lifestyle environments. The showcase aimed to move beyond traditional product demonstrations, giving guests the opportunity to see how conversational AI and smart-home technology can seamlessly integrate into everyday life.
The experience needed to feel authentic, intuitive, and engaging, with intelligent lighting and audiovisual elements responding naturally to voice commands and programmed demonstrations throughout the event.
Hosted at 180 Studios in London, the event required the creation of multiple bespoke scenic environments, including a living room, kitchen, lounge, and home office. LUX Technical was commissioned to provide the technical infrastructure that would bring these spaces to life, integrating intelligent LED lighting and AV systems within the scenic build.
The solution needed to support a series of live Alexa+ demonstrations, allowing voice commands and automated sequences to trigger coordinated lighting and audiovisual cues. All technical elements were required to remain discreetly hidden within the set design, delivering a seamless user experience while maintaining the premium aesthetic of the showcase environment.
The completed showcase successfully transformed 180 Studios into a series of immersive smart-home environments, providing journalists and industry stakeholders with a hands-on introduction to Amazon Alexa+.
By combining intelligent lighting, integrated AV systems and seamless technical delivery, LUX helped create an engaging and authentic product experience that demonstrated the potential of conversational AI in everyday life.
