A boundary-pushing exhibition celebrating 20 years of artistic collaborations between The Vinyl Factory and world-renowned visual and sonic artists. We were approached by 180 Studios to provide full technical support — installing and programming a complex multimedia environment across multiple gallery zones. The result was a seamless integration of LED, projection, and sonic installations that amplified each artist’s vision while staying sensitive to the venue’s gallery-led aesthetic.
To deliver a technically robust yet discreet installation that could handle a range of artist requirements — from immersive AV and multi-screen displays to custom projection mapping and spatial audio — all within the flexible, raw space of 180 Studios.
Work alongside the in-house curatorial and production team to realise the technical delivery of each artist’s installation. This included the installation of LED walls, projections, screen systems (including glass and transparent media), audio playback systems, and lighting across a series of rooms and gallery-style environments. The exhibition needed to be both technically ambitious and gallery-quiet — with all infrastructure hidden or minimised to support a seamless visitor experience.

While each artist brought their own unique vision, we worked with the 180 Studios team to translate creative concepts into technically deliverable solutions — choosing suitable playback systems, lensing, projection surfaces, and screen types to suit each artwork’s needs. This included selecting the best projection format for immersive dark-room installations and determining where LED was most appropriate for large-format, high-impact delivery.
Working within the constraints of an existing exhibition infrastructure, our team developed bespoke technical plans to fit each zone. Power distribution, cabling, and playback routing were all designed for efficiency and minimal visual disruption. Where necessary, we worked with artists’ own media and control systems to ensure compatibility, syncing content across multiple outputs and adjusting for unique projection throw and glass reflections.
With numerous artists and stakeholders involved, our team served as the central technical liaison — coordinating load-in, setup, and troubleshooting across the build phase. We maintained a flexible working model to accommodate late changes in content and layout, while ensuring safety, timing, and continuity throughout.
The installation was phased over multiple days, with our team working alongside 180 Studios’ internal team and the curatorial staff. LED walls, projectors, speaker arrays, and interactive playback devices were installed room by room, each tailored to the specific requirements of the installation space. Specialist care was taken to maintain clean sightlines and unobtrusive hardware placement, in keeping with the visual rhythm of the exhibition.
Once installed, our team remained on-hand to provide technical support throughout the exhibition’s run. We ensured all systems were commissioned, calibrated, and reliable — with rapid response available for any artist updates, equipment queries, or show control adjustments. Playback and environmental systems were monitored daily to preserve the integrity of the exhibition across its entire opening period.

Many members of our team come from creative backgrounds themselves — with experience in illustration, graphic animation, and visual storytelling. These skills continue to influence our technical work daily, so being part of an exhibition like Reverb was particularly rewarding. It wasn’t just about delivering equipment or installing screens — it was about engaging with the creative intent behind each piece.
Working alongside such a diverse group of contemporary artists, we found real joy in the collaborative process — interpreting bold ideas, solving unusual challenges, and helping turn ambitious concepts into living, breathing installations. For a team like ours, it felt like coming full circle: artists supporting artists through technical craft.
Reverb was widely praised by press, visitors, and the creative community for its ambition, curation, and immersive execution. The exhibition brought together 20 years of The Vinyl Factory’s most iconic collaborations in one landmark show — with our technical delivery helping to ensure that each piece landed exactly as the artist intended.
This project affirmed our long-standing reputation as a trusted technical partner in high-end, artist-led exhibition environments — capable of delivering invisible infrastructure that supports bold, multimedia storytelling.
