Commissioned for the official launch gala of Yorkshire Children’s Charity, A Night Under the Stars was an ambitious fundraising event held at Grantley Hall’s stunning signature glass orangerie. The goal: raise £1 million in a single, star-lit evening in support of disadvantaged children across Yorkshire. LUX delivered seamless technical production across lighting, AV, and infrastructure—bringing elegance and emotional impact to an unforgettable evening.

Objectives:

To support Yorkshire Children’s Charity’s first major gala launch event—creating a setting both emotionally resonant and logistically flawless to raise critical funds while showcasing regional sophistication.

Construct and deliver a high-end technical production within a marquee-style orangerie: elegant lighting, sound, staging, and immersive effects intended to elevate the event’s ambiance while ensuring smooth operation for guest experience and charitable impact.

Project Fulfilment

Conceptual Design:

Working seamlessly with venue hosts and creative partners, LUX designed an elegant lighting and audio scheme to enhance the orangerie’s architecture—creating a sense of intimacy, warmth, and motivation aligned with the gala’s cause.

Technical Design:

We developed technical plans for lighting rigs, sound systems, stage staging, and scenic elements—integrating seamlessly with the structure’s layout, power, and aesthetic, while preserving operational flow and guest circulation.

Project Management:

Close coordination with venue staff and event planners ensured safe load‑ins, compliance with schedules, and rapid responsiveness during the evening. All technical cues were rehearsed for flawless delivery.

Installation & Build:

The LUX team carried out setup across the venue—rigging light fixtures, audio arrays, scenic features, AV elements, and ensuring functional integration with décor and event choreography.

Event Delivery:

On the night, the gala ran seamlessly—lighting cues uplifted keynote moments, visuals and sound support framed the emotional narrative, and technical teams remained on call for invisible, dependable support throughout the evening.
