A full technical production supporting life-saving childhood cancer research.
On Wednesday 27 November 2024, the annual Children with Cancer UK Gala took place for the first time at the newly opened Peninsula Hotel, London. Hosted by Gaby Roslin, the evening featured a star-studded line-up — headlined by Olly Murs, with a surprise performance from Beverley Knight. Other highlights included a heartfelt performance from the Children’s Choir, led by Louisa, and a lively auction conducted by Martin Bayfield. Celebrities, supporters, and sponsors gathered for an unforgettable night that raised over £725,000 for vital childhood cancer research.
Deliver a world-class technical production to match the prestige of the Peninsula London’s ballroom, enhance the gala’s live entertainment and fundraising programme, and ensure a flawless guest experience.
Design, install, and operate a full technical and scenic package that could support live music, speeches, and charity auction moments, while creating an elegant yet dynamic visual atmosphere that reflected the significance of the cause.

Working alongside our long-standing partners at Velvet Twenty, we designed a cohesive technical plan that balanced sophistication with flexibility, ensuring smooth transitions between speeches, live performances, and auction segments.
From rehearsals through to the final performance, our team managed all show cues, lighting states, audio mixes, and visual content with precision — ensuring seamless flow for both the live audience and performers.
The integration of the Analog Way Zenith 200 video control system with Theatrixx fibre distribution ensured zero signal loss across the flown LED walls — a critical factor for delivering pristine visuals in the Peninsula’s grand ballroom. The pairing of Robe moving lights with the Chroma-Q Colourforce 2 allowed for a blend of subtle architectural lighting during speeches and bold, high-energy looks for performances. On the audio side, the D&B XSL system was chosen for its exceptional vocal clarity and coverage in a challenging space, guaranteeing intelligibility during speeches and richness during live music.

This was our first time delivering a gala at The Peninsula London, and it was a pleasure to see how our technical designs complemented the venue’s elegant architecture. Working with Velvet Twenty and the charity’s team, the atmosphere on the night was electric — moments like the Children’s Choir performance reminded us why we love doing what we do. Seeing the fundraising total climb to over £725,000 was the perfect end to a truly special evening.
The Children with Cancer UK Fundraising Gala 2024 was a resounding success — both technically and in its mission. Our comprehensive production delivery ensured a seamless evening for over 500 guests, with the technical precision supporting heartfelt storytelling, inspiring performances, and record-breaking fundraising for a cause that matters.
